Tribute to Denyse Plummer | Happy Independence Day Trinidad & Tobago

I had originally planned to celebrate Trinidad and Tobago’s 61st Independence Day by singing a portion of the Mighty Sniper’s “Portrait of Trinidad,” a favorite in my house growing up. However, upon learning of the death of Denyse Plummer, I decided to celebrate Independence Day by honoring the late calypsonian with the song that won her the 2001 Calypso Monarch title – “Nah Leaving.” Rest in Peace Denyse Plummer. Happy Independence Day Trinidad & Tobago.
